VFSAAA RETRAINING 2022 ANNOUNCEMENT
Virginia Forensic Science AcademyAnnual Retraining SeminarVirginia Beach, VirginiaSeptember 7 – 9, 2022 Registration is now open for the VFSAAA / Annual Retraining Seminar.
The Seminar will be held at the Delta Virginia Beach Bayfront Suites, 2800 Shore Drive, Virginia Beach, VA 23451.
DELTA CUT OFF DATE FOR ROOM RESERVATIONS IS August 6, 2022.
This program is designed to keep Virginia Forensic Science Academy graduates abreast of changes in the expanding field of forensic science. In addition to providing updates concerning laboratory topics, case studies addressing situations encountered at actual crime scenes will be presented as well as a legal update. There will be a Manufacturer/Retailer Exhibit, sponsored by the Alumni Association that will allow graduates to see some of the newest developments in crime scene search equipment. Graduates interested in sharing their knowledge of new methods, techniques or resources they have found particularly useful or any experience and knowledge gained by a particular case, please contact Jeff Dwyer at 804-588-4144. Suggestions for presenters from outside our group are also welcome.
SOCIAL (September 8, 2022): Social tickets will be $20.00 each and sold on a “first come, first serve” basis beginning Wednesday, September 7th. If you plan on attending the Social, please purchase your tickets as soon as possible, as only a limited number will be available.
Registration will be on-line and information will be posted under Course Resources as it becomes available. Once you have registered, please continue to refer back to the website for updated information. Please go to the following website address to register, http://www.dfs.virginia.gov/training/forensic-training and select the VFSA Annual Retraining tab.

Registration will be open until August 26, 2022, at 5:00 PM.
It is very important that you include your duties and responsibilities when prompted during the application process; that information is needed to be considered for this course. Remember, you must have a valid email address to complete your application and follow the instructions to create a profile (one email address per profile, no duplications). In the field for “Middle Initial”, input a hyphen (-) if you do not have one since it is a required field. The email address utilized will receive a confirmation message once the application is submitted and a following email stating acceptance or denial to the course once the application has been reviewed. If you have already created a profile, you need only to log-in after entering the event password above. ***If you do not receive a confirmation email, check your SPAM folder. If it DOES end up there, then most likely, the email indicating your acceptance will be sent to SPAM as well.*** For additional information, view “Course Resources”, as additional information may be posted.
